Press Release:
Golden Shirt Award 2014 takes “fans” as its theme
TV TecStyle Visions expands its social media activities
Under the motto “Are you a FANatic? Make it FANtastic!”, everything at the Golden Shirt Award 2014 is set to revolve around “fans” – football fans who might make their way to Brazil in 2014 for the Football World Cup; music enthusiasts who need the right outfit for a concert, or art lovers who want to wear their idol’s motifs upon their breast. “Fans” in and of themselves are a great economic factor, as people are happy to spend money on their passion. This fact forms the focus of the upcoming Golden Shirt Award, which has been praised by the professional journal TVP and which will be presented and awarded in Stuttgart from 13th to 15th February 2014 as part of TV TecStyle Visions, the international trade fair for textile decoration and promotion. Participants face the following challenge:
- They must clothe the fans of tomorrow in textile-based fan merchandise, and in the process use at least two of the following decoration techniques to add decoration or lettering to the textiles: embroidery, printing, flocking, rhinestone application, or laser-branding.
TVP is the official media partner of TV TecStyle Visions, and has been organising the Golden Shirt Award, with its changing themes and conditions of participation, in a biennial rhythm since 2002. People involved in textile decoration through e.g. textile printing, embroidering, and flocking are called upon to participate and so prove their creative as well as technical abilities in the area of textile decoration! The next generation working in this sector, e.g. trainees or students in the various textile-based professions, are also expressly called upon to provide fresh input. As in previous competition outlines for the Golden Shirt Award, one fundamental condition for participation is once again that at least two of the following decorative techniques must be combined with one another: embroidery, printing (screen printing, transfer printing, digital printing), flocking, rhinestone application, or laser-branding.
